A influência das fontes de informação sobre a formação da imagem turística

Resumo

As fontes de informação são postuladas como um elemento relevante no processo de formação da imagem de um destino. Este artigo visa analisar a imagem turística percebida, identificando os elementos mais marcantes de um destino turístico e determinando o efeito que o número e tipo de diferentes fontes de informação utilizadas durante a fase de preparação da viagem podem ter. Em particular, um município da Costa Brava (Espanha) com uma amostra de 594 turistas foi tomado como um estudo de caso. Os resultados mostram claramente que tanto o número como o tipo de fontes de informação influenciam os atributos relacionados com o destino. Concluiu-se que existe uma certa fragmentação na imagem percebida do destino através dos diferentes tipos de fontes de informação consultadas, e que um menor número de fontes de informação consultadas tende a implicar uma imagem turística mais simplificada e estereotipada.
