The purpose of this research is to carry out a bibliometric analysis of the scientific production indexed in the main collection of the Web of Science (WoS) database between 1996 and 2021 on wine routes. Given the scarcity of bibliometric reviews on this subject, this research may serve by way of reference for both the academics and professionals in the wine sector who wish greater in-depth knowledge of how this type of tourism is structured. The results of the study show that, among other aspects, academic documents on wine routes date back to the end of the 1990s, highlighting articles as the main means of disseminating research results, as well as the weighting of research mostly found in the Old World as opposed to the New World.
