Abstract

Exporting countries and tourist countries: a necessary combination

Almanaque Mundial is a Mexican publication of Editorial Televisa, whose president is Laura D. B. de Laviada and has a first-rate board of directors and advisors. The abundance of its geographic, political, economic and social data has served as excellent summaries obtained from many important sources such as the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT), International Tourism Alliance, Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), World Food Council, European Union, United Nations (UN), ILO, NASA, UNIDO, OAS, etc., as well as information and graphic material provided by the embassies of many countries. In fact, this publication, as its editors point out, is a kind of encyclopedia of useful data and events, which also makes an assessment of those events and personalities that left their mark on the contemporary world: in short, the publication is a temporary memory of the whole society.
