Founded in 2002, by a group of anthropologists and scholars involved with research and analysis on tourism as a social phenomenon, the Cultus Culture Group, Tourism and Society, was consolidated as a forum for reflection and debate on the topic of tourism, both as an object of empirical knowledge as a source of theoretical discussion, aiming to contribute with a broader project, that is to find new paradigms for the study of tourism and for anthropology itself.
