Aumento das temperaturas globais e turismo: Decifrando a tendência das «férias frescas» nos destinos nórdicos

O clima tem um impacto significativo no turismo, influenciando as escolhas de destinos e atividades. À medida que as temperaturas globais aumentam, os climas mais frescos estão a tornar-se alternativas atraentes, levando à tendência das «férias frescas», que aborda os desafios das alterações climáticas. O objetivo é explorar e definir o novo termo «coolcation», identificando as suas características, implicações e impacto potencial na indústria do turismo através de um projeto de investigação qualitativa. Este estudo explora como as organizações de marketing de destinos (DMO) de diferentes destinos nórdicos interpretam o conceito de coolcation. O principal método de recolha consistirá em entrevistas semiestruturadas com representantes das organizações de gestão de destinos (DMO) dos destinos nórdicos. O aumento da coolcation apresenta oportunidades e desafios. Abre novos caminhos para o turismo em climas mais frios, potencialmente impulsionando as economias locais. Por outro lado, pode pressionar as infraestruturas locais e os recursos naturais. Por esta razão, as DMOs concordam que é crucial promover práticas de turismo responsável para garantir a sustentabilidade destes destinos.
