El outsourcing hotelero y sus beneficios y riesgos estratégicos. El Caso de Egipto

El trabajo analiza la externalización u outsourcing en el sector hotelero de Egipto. Para ello se exponen los principales niveles de externalización de las principales servicios o actividades hoteleras. Por otra parte, también se analiza las principales beneficios y riesgos que perciben los directivos encuestados de la estrategia de outsourcing. Los datos han sido recopilados de 114 hoteles dos ciudades turísticas de sol y playa de Egipto (Sharm el Sheikh y Hurgada). Los resultados indican que las actividades más externalizadas son la animación, los servicios de transporte, los sistemas de información y el mantenimiento y las menos externalizadas son la recepción, limpieza de habitaciones, lavandería y alimentación y bebidas. En cuanto los principales beneficios percibidos tienen que ver con el enfoque en las competencias básicas y la ayuda a cubrir las necesidades urgentes del hotel; mientras que los mayores riesgos del outsourcing están relacionados con el perjuicio que supone su uso para los recursos y capacidades del hotel y para los resultados del hotel.
