Atribuição de recursos, satisfação do visitante, administração e manejo de parques nacionais na Costa Rica, Honduras e Nicarágua

Resumo

O rápido crescimento nele número de novos visitantes, que se prevê ocorrerá nos parques nacionais da América Central nos próximos anos, torna necessário que os gestores de parques da região considerem cada vez mais o nível de satisfação dos visitantes, pelo que se lhes oferece aos visitantes em matéria de infra-estruturas, serviços e opções recreativas, em seus processos de planejamento e manejo dos parques. Um estudo baseado em 915 inquéritos, 312 a visitantes de origem local e 603 a visitantes de origem estrangeira foi realizado em Honduras, Nicarágua e Costa Rica, a fim de determinar a lacuna na satisfação dos visitantes com a infra-estrutura, os serviços e as opções recreativas, usando uma forma modificada do modelo de brecha baseado na teoria das expectativas-desconfirmacion. O estudo descobriu que havia diferenças e semelhanças significativas ao nível de 95% de probabilidade entre as caracterizas sócio-demográficas e níveis de satisfação de visitantes locais e estrangeiros para os diferentes parques e entre os visitantes locais e estrangeiros em cada parque.  Modelos padronizados foram identificados para cada parque em cada categoria de visitante os quais permitiram identificar aquelas variáveis que mais influenciavam a lacuna em satisfação. O material anterior permitiu ainda identificar as áreas mais importantes às quais se deveriam atribuir recursos financeiros para melhorar no curto prazo os níveis de satisfação dos visitantes.
