A responsabilidade como elemento chave na governança dos destinos turísticos

Resumo

A responsabilidade é configurada como um elemento chave para o sucesso dos processos de governança, mas os estudos que têm analisado este elemento no campo da governança em destinos turísticos são inexistentes. O principal objetivo deste artigo é destacar a relevância da prestação de contas através da necessidade demonstrada pelos cidadãos de responsabilizar sua administração pública municipal (PPA) e a utilidade que dão ao relatório anual de sustentabilidade nos destinos turísticos. Para alcançar estes objetivos, revisamos a literatura especializada relacionada e posteriormente realizamos uma pesquisa dirigida aos interessados dos destinos turísticos espanhóis. A população amostrada é de 11.251 indivíduos, finalmente obtendo 1.027 respostas, o que implica um erro amostral de ±2,91% para um nível de confiança de 95%. Os resultados obtidos com a pesquisa mostram como os residentes em destinos turísticos têm uma forte necessidade de que o seu PLA seja responsável, especialmente na esfera econômica. Estes resultados destacam-se, não só pela sua relevância no campo do conhecimento do planeamento e gestão do turismo, mas também pelas importantes implicações que têm para os decisores públicos.
