According to various studies and surveys carried out in recent years, one of the training needs most in demand by the tourism sector is that related to information and communication technologies (ICT). To this must be added the impact that these have had on tourism supply and demand in recent decades and the implications they have for human capital. In this article we first provide a brief review of the academic literature on training needs studies. It then reviews the impact that ICTs have had on tourism in recent years and finally presents the main results of the TURISTIC-E project, which determined the training needs in technological matters in the Andalusian tourism sector.
