Turismo interno en Uruguay: un enfoque matricial

En este trabajo se analiza el turismo interno en Uruguay mediante la introducción de un enfoque matricial Origen-Destino, y se calcula un coeficiente de atracción. Se muestra que Montevideo es un destino atractivo pero para sí mismo (aunque emita más viajes de los que recibe), siendo la región Sudeste el principal destino. Otro resultado importante es la importancia de los patrones intrarregionales, asociados a los viajes a los departamentos limítrofes. Los resultados proporcionan a los gestores de los destinos un conocimiento práctico útil para reducir la estacionalidad y atraer más turistas nacionales durante todo el año, así como para ofrecer una mejor oferta de servicios, que atraiga tanto a los visitantes habituales como a los nuevos de los destinos competitivos.
