The objective of this work is to learn about the insertion of local human resources (residents in Ushuaia and Argentina) as staff members of Antarctic tourism expedition cruises. To this end, an analysis of the ship's offices was carried out in order to identify the local human resources involved, who were asked to answer a questionnaire via electronic means, and finally, interviews were conducted with key actors linked to staff recruitment. The results show a significant participation by local human resources in the Antarctic tourism market and provide information on the main factors which favour and also affect this insertion, helping to think of strategies to achieve greater employment possibilities in the future.
