Abstract

In March 2004 the City Council of the Municipality of Arona (province of S/C de Tenerife, Spain) published Sol de Invierno. The book, divided into four works1, has as its main characters a group of Swedish patients who, at the beginning of the second half of the 20th century, established their residence in the village of Los Cristianos2. The presentation of this work was carried out within a program of events organized by the local administration for these individuals and recalled the meeting that took place between the first "tourists" and the local residents.
