Factores explicativos de las barreras percibidas para viajar de los senior

Resumen

Los seniors constituyen una nueva y rentable oportunidad de mercado para el sector turístico, a causa del continuo envejecimiento de la población mundial. Concretamente, las nuevas generaciones de senior con un estilo de vida más orientado al ocio y disfrute del tiempo libre, mayor poder adquisitivo y mejores condiciones de salud que las generaciones anteriores, serán aquellas que harán crecer el volumen global del turismo. Por ello, el objetivo de este estudio consiste en averiguar si las barreras para el viaje de los seniors españoles están determinadas por la etapa del ciclo de vida de los seniors y su nivel sociocultural. Mediante la utilización del ANCOVA se obtuvo que ciertas variables relacionadas con la etapa del ciclo de vida y el nivel sociocultural de los seniors determinan las principales barreras para el viaje de este colectivo: salud, estatus económico y tiempo disponible autopercibido.
