Resumo

O clima tem um impacto significativo no turismo, influenciando as escolhas de destinos e atividades. À medida que as temperaturas globais aumentam, os climas mais frescos estão a tornar-se alternativas atraentes, levando à tendência das «férias frescas», que aborda os desafios das alterações climáticas. O objetivo é explorar e definir o novo termo «coolcation», identificando as suas características, implicações e impacto potencial na indústria do turismo através de um projeto de investigação qualitativa. Este estudo explora como as organizações de marketing de destinos (DMO) de diferentes destinos nórdicos interpretam o conceito de coolcation. O principal método de recolha consistirá em entrevistas semiestruturadas com representantes das organizações de gestão de destinos (DMO) dos destinos nórdicos. O aumento da coolcation apresenta oportunidades e desafios. Abre novos caminhos para o turismo em climas mais frios, potencialmente impulsionando as economias locais. Por outro lado, pode pressionar as infraestruturas locais e os recursos naturais. Por esta razão, as DMOs concordam que é crucial promover práticas de turismo responsável para garantir a sustentabilidade destes destinos.

PhD. Jorge Rivera García, Universitat Oberta de Catalunya. UOC

Jordi Rivera García, Doutor em Turismo pela Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC), Mestre em Turismo Sustentável e TIC, Licenciado em Administração de Empresas pela mesma instituição e Diplomado em Turismo pela Universitat de Girona. A sua vida profissional esteve quase sempre ligada à intermediação turística em diferentes tipos de agências, desde o segmento MICE ao vacacional. Após 17 anos na Catai Tours, operadora turística líder em grandes viagens na Espanha, como diretor do Departamento de Média Distância, ele embarcou no último ano num projeto inovador e ambicioso que busca reduzir a lacuna entre a intermediação turística e a sustentabilidade no nosso mercado. Ao longo dos seus mais de 25 anos de vida profissional, participa frequentemente em congressos, feiras e workshops em todo o mundo. Atualmente, é diretor de produto e sustentabilidade da ICARION, grossista de grandes viagens do grupo W2M.

Asunción Fernández-Villarán Ara, Universidad de Deusto

Asunción Fernández-Villarán Ara é licenciada em Economia e Gestão e doutorada em Economia e Gestão (Gestão Avançada) pela Universidade de Deusto. Atualmente, é professora sénior na Universidade de Deusto, onde leciona no campus de Bilbau. As suas atividades docentes centram-se na Licenciatura em Turismo e na Licenciatura em Línguas Modernas e Gestão. Mais especificamente, leciona as seguintes disciplinas ao nível de licenciatura: Economia Empresarial e Organização, Marketing Digital em Turismo e Análise Contabilística. Nos últimos anos, tem trabalhado na gestão e organização de empresas e destinos turísticos; intermediação turística; turismo para todos; e inovação no turismo.

Ricardo Pastor Ruiz, Universidad Internacional de La Rioja. UNIR

Ricardo Pastor, Doutor em Turismo pela Escola Internacional de Doutorado da Universidade Rey Juan Carlos, pertencente à Rede Intur e acreditado pela ANECA como Professor Assistente Doutor, Professor Contratado Doutor e Professor de Universidade Privada. Foi professor do Curso de Turismo da Universidade de Deusto de 2007 a 2020 e das Universidades Antonio de Nebrija e Universidade Europeia das Canárias. Atualmente, é professor do Mestrado em Docência, Mestrado em Ensino Universitário da Universidade Internacional de La Rioja (UNIR) e Mestrado Universitário em Inovação em Turismo. Tutor de trabalhos de mestrado (TFM) e membro de tribunais. Participou em congressos e publicou vários livros e artigos relacionados com a intermediação, a sustentabilidade, o turismo rural, etc. Desde 1996, colabora com agências de viagens e operadores turísticos, tendo trabalhado para algumas das marcas mais prestigiadas do setor.
