As the title of this work itself suggests, the author is not interested in tackling the tourism phenomenon as such, in its complexity and diversity of aspects, but as something that goes beyond even the obvious and inescapable economic interests at stake. Tourism, and the multitude of cultural events with which it is linked, are more than just leisure and business, Goldstone wants us to see. The truth is that behind this sweetened and friendly vision that always involves the promotion of tourism and tourism-culture in many places, and full of such unavoidable concepts as education, health, democracy, peace, development... there are elements that, despite being generally mentioned, have not been so specifically dealt with in specialised literature (even less so in Spanish).
