The promotion of rural tourism through "trail running": the case of Carrícola in the region of "La Vall d'Albaida

A corrida tornou-se em pouco tempo um desporto de massas, gerando todo um negócio à sua volta e um importante impacto económico nos locais que acolhem este tipo de eventos.
Este artigo analisará o caso particular da corrida de montanha ou mais conhecido como "trail running". Para isso, vamos estudar o impacto económico, ambiental e sócio-cultural da organização de uma meia maratona numa população rural de apenas 100 habitantes como a Carrícola, localizada no sul da província de Valência. A partir daí, vamos avaliar como um evento com um mínimo de financiamento público, pode gerar um impacto positivo em termos económicos, turísticos e socioculturais em municípios rurais com dificuldades para o seu desenvolvimento.
