Desastres, turismo y movilidad, el caso del terremoto de Japón

Resumen

No es raro observar que durante las emergencias o los desastres naturales, una serie de desencadenantes socio-psicológicos se ponen en primer plano para ayudar al público a comprender el evento y situarlo en un contexto comprensible. Sin estos desencadenantes socio-psicológicos el público se quedaría no sólo en un estado anómico, sino que la desintegración social comenzaría a instalarse. Una forma en la que comenzamos a ordenar y dar sentido a estas tragedias negativas es a través de los mecanismos sociales gemelos del nacionalismo y el consumismo. En los momentos en que las sociedades deben enfrentarse a posibles exterminios, la supervivencia puede ocurrir a través del fortalecimiento de la individualidad y la identidad de grupo. Estos dos fenómenos sociales actúan como antídotos de la tragedia y permiten la supervivencia del grupo. Así, después de una tragedia como un tsunami o un terremoto, el orgullo nacional (o de grupo) permite que comience el proceso de curación social. Es en este contexto que analizamos la cobertura mediática y la reacción de la comunidad japonesa de Buenos Aires ante el terremoto y el tsunami que diezmó Japón en 2011 y los peligros que se derivaron de los daños en el reactor de Fukuyima. Aunque este trabajo es sobre una pequeña comunidad dentro de la Diáspora Japonesa, sirve para que sus percepciones psicológicas sociales no se limiten a esta comunidad, sino que deberían ser replicadas en todo el mundo.
