Bad image and selection and adaptation strategies for tourism diversification: the case of guest houses or Gasthof del Altmühlsee (Germany)

The article analyzes business selection and adaptation strategies of Gasthof as a tourist accommodation at the lake known as Altmühlsee (Germany), a region with a significant tourist activity which has been threatened result of bad image by the local press as a consequence of the abundance of toxic blue algae in their lakes. To achieve it, takes up elements from evolutionary economic geography based on the Darwinian approach in order to understand the mechanisms that have allowed the emergence of the strategies by the local enterprises in the region which led them to adapt and diversify their tourism offer despite the circumstances.
