For some time now, there have been analyses warning of the limits of an outdated economic system, of unprecedented environmental degradation, of dependence on a destructive energy model, of social inequalities that may herald far-reaching political and social changes... signs that may condition "the end of tourism as we have known it up to now". After all, tourism is only a reflection of the dominant economic system, a cannibalistic neoliberal capitalism, and it is clear that the future of tourism appears inextricably linked to the future of society.
