When commenting on this recent publication by Professor Javier Marcos Arévalo, it is essential to refer to the task that the au- thor has been carrying out for more than a quarter of a century in Extremadura. In fact, it can be said that the late institutionalisation of cultural anthropology in the regional university has a lot to do with the task of raising awareness among the public that Javier has dedicated himself to during this time. As a social researcher, he has not stopped crying, sometimes praying that in the desert, for a normalization of Anthropology not only in the university world, but in general in the society of Extremadura, both in the different administrations and in the private company; the truth is that his task is still necessary especially in what refers to the insertion of the professional of the Anthropology in the technical teams of management of the Cultural Heritage.
