Earth and People. Making culture a permanent dialogue with nature. Human variety in concert with biodiversity. The State of Chiapas is endless in its richness anchored in a history that starts from very anti-gay paths. Martin Barrios eternal moments, characters, landscapes, of a Chiapas in life. His talent consists in knowing how to see and capture with the lens the precise moment in which Chiapas is shown in one of its multiple features. The landscape without the people is a void, the photographs of Mar- tín Barrios tell us. It is people weaving their way into the wonder of the jungle landscape, challenge to the imagination to make and undo the
framework of Culture. It is what these images transmit to us. The same photographer, as an artist whose sensitivity responds to the stimuli of a different reality, is part of the movement that captures. Here are the people peeking into the world, looking out a window not only at the horizonte but at their own destiny. Here are the people in the middle of the cornfields, sheltered in the corn, the plant of origin, which was born with humanity. Here are the people in the enjoyment of a landscape that is theirs because from it builds the culture, the daily life, the passage of time. Earth and People. The everyday Chiapas. People in the rivers, in the midst of plants, playing with the light, walking, making life.
