"Just as Richard Avedon can be considered the chronicler of Deep America, Martin Parr’s photographs are an afábula of cultural tourism." Thus begins the recently published book by Professor José Antonio Donaire (University of Girona) on Cultural Tourism. Between experience and ritual, a journey through the main tensions of the commodification of culture. The author imbues us in a labyrinth of sinuous walls, where the various contradictory realities overlap, deny and complement each other. Cultural tourism designates different practices and readings of the same phenomenon. Often, related to each other. Not in vain, the central thesis of the work "cultural tourism as experience and/or ritual" is always present in all the dissertations of the publication.Downloads
