Estacionalidad del turismo de cruceros en puertos españoles. Una aproximación multivariante

Resumen

En este trabajo se desarrolla una metodología para el análisis de la estacionalidad del turismo de cruceros. Mediante el uso de varias técnicas estadísticas multivariantes, análisis factorial de componentes principales y cluster, se facilita la obtención de agrupaciones de los destinos, según las características estac¬ionales de la distribución mensual de los pasajeros de cruceros. Adicionalmente, se obtiene el índice de Gini como medida del nivel de concentración estacional anual. La aplicación de esta metodología a los puertos españoles, con datos de los últimos cinco años, ha revelado que la mayoría se puede agrupar en clusters homogéneos y estables en cuanto a sus patrones estacionales, en tanto que algunos puertos no presentan perfiles que los puedan clasificar en grupos tan estables y homogéneos.
