Vendendo um/outro País de Gales. Uma abordagem desconstrutiva

Resumo

Ao contrário do galês materiais turísticos abordando um público britânico, que se destacam na criação de uma gratificante dissimilar, embora principalmente imagem anglicista de Gales (Prieto, 2004)Os outros que têm como alvo os mercados estrangeiros lutam para criar uma nação culturalmente distinta. O presente trabalho se concentrará no último, a fim de analisar as estratégias utilizadas pelo Conselho de Turismo do País de Gales para apelar ao visitante internacional. Após Halliday (1994) e Kress & Leeuwen (1999) na análise dos componentes verbais e visuais, respectivamente, este estudo testemunhará a utilização do património como identidade-ferramenta de criação, o nosso objectivo final é a desconstrução de tal imagem, possivelmente resultante da delicada situação do País de Gales dentro do que parece ser cada vez mais um (des)Reino Unido.
