Resumo

Os turistas não seguem comportamentos aleatórios nas cidades do património, mas são conscientemente ou inconscientemente guiados por itinerários socialmente construídos. Este artigo estuda a forma destes itinerários em uma cidade patrimonial (Girona), usando a metodologia de observação direta durante a visita (seguindo os turistas de uma distância prudente e reunir todas as informações sobre suas visitas) e os jogos convencionais no final da visita. Também estabelece quais são os fatores sociodemográficos, ambientais e in-formativos que explicam este comportamento. O uso simultâneo do método de observação e um questionário foi encontrado para ser uma técnica útil para analisar o comportamento turistas’ e os fatores que explicam este comportamento.

Dr José Antonio Donaire and Dr Núria Galí are Lecturers at the School of Tourism and at the Department of Geography, History and Art History of the University of Girona. Their current research is on linkages between tour- ism and culture; specifically focused on urban tourism studies, tourism in heritage cities, tourism behavior and tour- ism image.
