Resumen

El estudio de las actitudes de los residentes es importante para la gestión de los destinos turísticos. El turismo genera beneficios y costes. La valoración de estos impactos puede depender de dos elementos: la preocupación por la economía local, y la preocupación por la conservación del entorno natural. Este trabajo revisa las dos preocupaciones y estudia su impacto en los residentes de Ibiza. El interés del estudio radica en analizar simultáneamente como afectan a las actitudes las dos preocupaciones. El análisis de los datos se realizó mediante Mínimos Cuadrados Parciales, encontrando que: las personas preocupadas por la economía tienen una valoración más elevada de los beneficios económicos; las personas preocupadas por el medioambiente tienen una mayor percepción de los costes, y el apoyo a un aumento en el número de turistas solo depende de la actitud general.
