Competencias digitales, segunda lengua y empleabilidad: un análisis en las empresas del sector turístico

Este estudio analiza la relación entre competencias digitales, empleabilidad y el dominio de una segunda lengua en pequeñas y medianas empresas (pymes) del sector turístico en los departamentos del Quindío y del Valle del Cauca, Colombia, con el fin de identificar cómo las correlaciones entre estas variables influyen en la competitividad empresarial a nivel local. Para comprobar estas correlaciones, se utilizó un diseño cuantitativo, se aplicó una encuesta a 114 pymes (agencias de viaje y operadores turísticos) y se analizaron los datos mediante modelación estructural, utilizando la técnica de mínimos cuadrados parciales (PLS-SEM). Los resultados indican que las competencias digitales tienen una influencia significativa en la empleabilidad, siendo aún más determinante el dominio de una segunda lengua. Esto destaca la importancia de dichas habilidades en la eficiencia organizacional y en la adaptación a los cambios. Se concluye que el desarrollo de estas competencias puede mejorar el desempeño de los trabajadores y optimizar los procesos corporativos, especialmente en el sector turístico.
