La integración de las políticas de turismo sostenible en las ciudades europeas

Resumen

Las ciudades europeas han experimentado un intenso crecimiento del turismo y otras movilidades relacionadas. Esta presión sobre los centros urbanos ha incrementado la percepción de la ciudadanía sobre la necesidad de diseñar políticas turísticas más sostenibles que aborden diversos dilemas. Este artículo compara las políticas turísticas de once ciudades europeas considerando lo que los gobiernos introducen u obvian en sus documentos de política turística. El objetivo es observar en qué medida se están incorporando acciones directamente relacionadas con la sostenibilidad. Los resultados indican que las políticas turísticas locales están abandonando un modelo de acción pública basado únicamente en considerar el impacto económico del turismo y están comenzando a trabajar con una gama más amplia de impactos. En este escenario, las ideas de equilibrio y sostenibilidad encuentran un acomodo más claro. Esta investigación presenta un escenario anterior a la crisis del Covid19 y podría cuestionarse durante las transiciones a modelos posteriores.
