Práticas de HRD nos hotéis classificados em Orissa: um estudo das percepções dos empregados

Resumo

No presente artigo, foi feita uma tentativa de medir a percepção dos empregados’ de algumas das práticas de desenvolvimento de recursos humanos (HRD) prevalecentes nos hotéis classificados em Orissa. Orissa é um estado no leste da Índia que tem estado a concentrar fortemente os seus esforços de desenvolvimento na indústria de turismo em geral e no sector hoteleiro em particular desde o início dos anos 80. No entanto, os resultados não fundamentam a quantidade de esforços que foram propostos por muitos motivos. Um argumento-chave feito pelos críticos é que esses esforços foram desequilibrados em que eles deram importância indevida para a função de marketing e aspectos totalmente negligenciados complementares como HRD.
