O turismo cultural está em ascensão e com ele uma nova subjetividade turística que tende a buscar cada vez mais os âmbitos mais ‘autênticos’ das culturas visitadas. No entanto, estes desejos violam freqüentemente as fronteiras que estabelecem as sociedades receptoras entre o que desejam expor ao visitante e o que não. Este artigo abordará as respostas locais a esta situação, especialmente ilustrativas em relação às suas representações festivas.
