Relações sociais duradouras entre a tripulação do navio de cruzeiro e a população residente, análise do caso Cozumel a partir da teoria do intercâmbio social

Resumo

Até esta data, há poucos artigos que lidam com os problemas enfrentados pelos tripulantes dos navios de cruzeiro. Além disso, esses problemas, quando tratados, não se envolvem com os problemas dentro de um quadro teórico que possa permitir uma melhor compreensão dos efeitos causados por esses agentes quando eles saem dos navios em seu tempo livre. Por estas razões, a presente investigação centra-se na explicação das relações entre os tripulantes dos navios de cruzeiro e os residentes locais da ilha de Cozumel, utilizando a Teoria do Intercâmbio Social para analisar a sua interacção e a relevância do mesmo para o destino. Os resultados demonstram que mesmo quando há uma interação custo-benefício, relações duradouras com intercâmbios recíprocos são notáveis, levando a diversos efeitos interculturais em Cozumel que devem ser estudados em profundidade em pesquisas futuras. As informações preliminares devem fazer com que os gerentes e pesquisadores locais reflitam sobre a importância potencial dos membros da tripulação dos navios de cruzeiro como agentes nos portos de cruzeiros.
