Travel trophies. For an anthropology of souvenirs

souvenirs, trips, symbolsAbstract
The souvenir object is an undisputed, though not exclusive, ingredient of the tourist landscape both present and past; in fact, the souvenir product is universally associated with tourism. It is well known that the consumption of souvenirs is a very widespread act in tourist activity and, therefore, can be analysed from its two main dimensions: that which has to do with economic consumption and that which has to do with symbolic consumption.
