Abstract

The works that make up this volume show once again the fundamental role of Anthropology as a mediator between the institutions responsible for managing common financial resources, as well as human and organizational resources, and for implementing development projects, and the ultimate beneficiaries of these services, the local communities, generally rural. This mediating role takes shape in two fundamental aspects: firstly, in the equidistance to which the anthropologist is situated both from these communities, which are the object of study, and from the institutions mentioned, with which he must relate and of which he can be an active member. Secondly, in the proven capacity of anthropology to bring together around it specialists from other disciplines such as archaeologists, economists, environmental technicians, specialists in tourism, historians, musicologists, geographers and journalists, as well as administration technicians who are experts in the management of heritage and tourism. This multidisciplinary character makes this type of work even more attractive.
