Ecotourism in Portugal: Characterization of the offer focused on Agents of Touristic Animation

The growing ecotourism market, result of a paradigm shift, with important changes of the tourist profile, who selects their holiday destination based on criteria and environmental and social motivations. Faced with this growing demand, there are several companies that have seen this tourist segment as a business opportunity. Based on this assumption and exploratory analysis of tourist animation agents in Portugal (Cordeiro, Alves and Carvalho, 2015), in this article we intend to deepen the knowledge about the market of ecotourism offer, through an online survey for these agents. In addition to other relevant data, in the universe of 28 companies identified, 17 participated in the survey, and of these 94.1% claim to sell ecotourism segment, what, not only validates the study referred above, as suggests, also, in later stage, an analysis in search of ecotourists in Portugal.
