De la visión a las métricas: validación de los pilares del turismo sostenible en las empresas

Este estudio se basa en un enfoque novedoso del turismo sostenible a través del concepto de Cooperativa Turística (CT). Su fundamento teórico reside en la comprensión del mundo natural y del medio ambiente, así como en su interconexión con los factores humanos. Para establecer un equilibrio entre la sostenibilidad turística y las acciones humanas, se examinaron cuatro constructos: orientación al mercado, economía circular, innovación y Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS). Se utilizó una muestra de 108 empresas turísticas en Tenerife para explorar la relevancia práctica de estos constructos y su papel en la configuración de las prácticas de turismo sostenible. El análisis de fiabilidad confirmó la formulación de los constructos. El modelo de CT considera la sostenibilidad como un proceso continuo y adaptativo enfatizando el intercambio de conocimientos y las dinámicas de poder. Por lo tanto, esta investigación demostró que la cooperación de todos los actores del turismo es fundamental para que las empresas turísticas adopten modelos de negocio sostenibles y contribuyan a que los destinos turísticos se encaminen hacia el desarrollo sostenible. Las limitaciones y las futuras líneas de investigación se refieren principalmente a las interrelaciones de los constructos y a la aplicación del estudio en diferentes contextos.
