Valoración económica del patrimonio cultural: Aplicación a un museo situado en la región vinícola del Alto Douro

Resumen

En las políticas de desarrollo social y económico de los territorios se tienen cada vez más en cuenta los bienes culturales debido a los efectos indirectos. Sin embargo, dado que los bienes culturales no se transan en el mercado, su valor de uso debe calcularse utilizando métodos indirectos de evaluación o técnicas no comerciales. En este trabajo, se eligió el método de los costes de viaje para estimar la curva de demanda en el Museo de Lamego, que constituye un elemento cultural importante de la Región del Vino del Alto Duero, clasificado por la UNESCO en 2001, como sitio del Patrimonio Mundial, un paisaje cultural vivo y en evolución. Los resultados de la aplicación del modelo de Poisson confirman lo esperado, es decir, la probabilidad de visitar el museo está influida positivamente por el nivel educativo, el género femenino y negativamente por el costo del viaje.
