O artesanato utilitário e artístico de Ráquira Boyacá: uma análise entre o comercial e o simbólico a partir do turismo.

Este estudo analisa o artesanato utilitário e artístico feito de barro no município de Ráquira Boyacá, a fim de compreender o papel do turismo nas mudanças das práticas artesanais e sua relação com a dinâmica do mercado. O horizonte metodológico foi orientado a partir da abordagem qualitativa e o método utilizado foi a etnografia de lugares, tendo a informação sido sistematizada e analisada com recurso ao software de análise qualitativa ATLAS.Os resultados indicam que os artesãos foram forçados a gerar mudanças e transformações nos seus ofícios tradicionais, dada a urgência de estarem na vanguarda das tendências contemporâneas, que são determinadas pelas práticas turísticas, Conclui-se que os consumidores turistas são actores determinantes na produção, comercialização e consumo do artesanato em Ráquira, na medida em que, a partir do seu sistema de valoração, símbolos, imagens e representações, reconfiguram as práticas artesanais, obrigando o artesão a re-significar o seu ofício e, sobretudo, a peça artesanal final para que esta se articule com as dinâmicas económicas da região.
