Resumo

Este artigo foca-se em duas áreas principais. A primeira se ocupa de analisar os distintos aspectos do patrimônio, do turismo cultural e do encontro com outras culturas, na perspectiva do olhar ‘cultural’ do turista, que elabora um modelo simplificado e distorcido do ‘outro’. O modelo perceptivo é a própria cultura, que a seguir se estuda em três diferentes níveis: o patrimônio; os usos e tradições de um povo; e, finalmente, o sistema de valores e crenças interiorizadas que compõem a representação da realidade. Em segundo lugar, o trabalho centra-se na tra- ducción e na interpretação na perspectiva do ‘outro’, salientando a pouca atenção geralmente reservada às competências linguísticas e culturais do tradutor, e os problemas colocados pela mediação entre diferentes culturas e olhares.
