This short paper analyzes the Black Magic Collection of the Museum of the Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro, which was preserved by Brazil’s institute of history and culture [IPHAN] in 1938, according to Lévi-Strauss’s theoretical framework as laid out in The View from Afar (1986).
