Style Guide

Language: The papers will be published in the language in which they are submitted (Spanish, Portuguese, English or French).

Margins: Three centimeters on all sides of the page.

Typography: The text will be written in Times New Roman or Arial font, size 10, or similar. The same font should be used in the notes at size 9. Do not use different fonts or sizes. If you wish to highlight a word or a paragraph within the text, use the same font in italics.

Notes: they will always be placed at the end, using the same font as in the text (Times New Roman or Arial) at size 9.

Title and data of the author or authors: The work must be headed by its title in lowercase and bold. THE NAME AND AFFILIATION OF THE AUTHORS SHOULD NOT BE INCLUDED IN THE FILE. This data, together with the biography, will be included in the metadata requested by the system when uploading the file. The Title captures attention and briefly (+/- 100 characters) describes the content. It should be specific, eliminating words that do not contribute clearly. Preferably interrogative or descriptive. Not conclusive. Faithful translation but expressing the same meaning.

Abstract: an abstract of the article (150 words) should be inserted in the language in which it is written and its translation into English. For articles written in English, a Spanish translation will be provided. It must arouse interest in reading the text. It should summarise all the relevant aspects of the work presented.Although it is not generally required, it should follow the order (i) Importance of the subject, (ii) Objectives, (iii) Case, (iv) Methodology, (v) Relevant results, (vi) Discussion and (vi) Discussion and (vii) Conclusions. No semi-colons. No bibliographical references, tables, graphs, ... The abstract is a text in itself, not containing references to what will be done (... as follows ...; ... will be discussed ...; ... will be presented ...). The translation must be legible and proofread (no use of automatic translators).

Key words: 5 key words on the main topic should be indicated. Existing words/concepts/terms, never constructions or phrases. Include the main theme and methodological approach. If applicable, geographical identification (country, or region, state, country).

Text: The text should be written at 1.5 spacing and with a length of 5,000 to 9,000 words for articles and 3,000 to 5,000 words for both opinions and essays and for research notes, including Title, Abstract, Introduction, the sections that are deemed appropriate, Conclusion, Acknowledgements (if applicable) and Bibliography (APA format).

Tables, Graphs and Images: articles may include any graphics deemed necessary. They should be referred to in the text and/or conveniently placed and accompanied by a footnote identifying them. Colour may be used, but the possibility of a paper publication in black and white must be considered.

Abbreviations and acronyms: they should be well spelled and clearly defined when first used in the text.

Citations and Bibliography: APA format or as follows: in the text the bibliographical references will refer to the author and the year of publication of the work cited. For example: (Smith, 2001) or (Nash, 1990; Smith, 2001). When a more precise citation is deemed necessary, the page number should be indicated (Smith, 2001: 34). The bibliographic list at the end of the text will follow the alphabetical order of authors, following the format:

Smith, Valene L. and Brent, Maryann 2001 "Introduction to Hosts and guests revisited: Tourism issues of the 21st century". In Smith, Valene L. and Brent, Maryann (Eds.), Hosts and guests revisited: Tourism issues of the 21st century (pp. 1-14). New York: Cognizant Communication.

For other types of publications, always include author, year, title and place of celebration or publication and a standard for electronic documents, indicating address and date of access.

Originality: Authors are required to commit to the originality of their work and not to submit their text simultaneously to other media for publication. Papers accepted for publication will be checked by anti-plagiarism software, and those in which a percentage of similarity of more than 25% is verified (after consultation with authors and careful review of citations) will be withdrawn.

Copyright and Responsibility: The authors will be solely responsible for the statements and declarations made in their text. The editorial team of PASOS reserves the right to use the edited articles in successive editions of the compilation. Please review the ethics and malpractice statement adopted by PASOS.
