Social tourism as a state policy in South America

Access to leisure practices is part of the rights of man. However, there are still large social sectors that have their access veiled. This exclusion is especially evident in regions with high rates of inequality, such as Latin America. The tourist modality that tries to respond to this problem is social tourism, which arises to help certain vulnerable groups to make effective their right to vacation. In accordance with what has been described, the research aims to analyze the social tourism policies promoted by South American governments, aimed at offering holidays to those vulnerable groups. The study describes a first analysis of the situation and outlines a series of optimistic proposals.
