When the tourism package was an element of tourism innovation

In this piece we present a historic example of a radical two-fold innovation. Since the failure of a groundbreaking corporate business plan, a luxury hotel in Spain in 1903, caused the introduction of a second innovation: tourist packages. We analyze here the novel elements that were derived from the first grand Spanish business plan focused on satisfying the demand for European vacation tourism.
