    We are pleased to announce the third Conference on Health and Tourism to be held in Lanzarote (Canary Islands, Spain) on December 16 - 17, 2019.

    The conference theme this year will be “Health and Wellbeing in Sustainable Destinations: Indicators for Responsible Tourism”. It will be dedicated to the analysis and debate of indicators for the development of responsible tourism from a double perspective: health as a tourism product and health experiences of the local community of the destination.
    Two framework papers and two panels of experts will be organized with a varied representation of researchers, agents and professionals linked to both health, sustainability and responsible tourism.

    Dr. Melanie Kay Smith, Budapest Metropolitan University

    The conference will provide a forum for a debate on the trends, challengers, innovations, governance and practices from the perspective of responsible tourism. The conference welcomes both conceptual and empirical insights around key areas including (though not limited to):

    • Health and well-being as a tourism product
    • Health and local community
    • Governance
    • Sustainable development
    • Responsible tourism
    • Host and guest congruency
    • Health, culture, heritage
    • Social dimension of tourism
    Abstract submission:

    Abstracts should be no more than 250 words in length and should be submitted as a Microsoft Word document to healthtourism@ulpgc.es

    VII JORNADAS SOBRE PATRIMONIO CULTURAL. Ecomuseos y experiencias comunitarias en España: Innovaciones sociales, emprendimientos y patrimonios diversos con problemas e inquietudes comunes

    Lugar de celebración. Villanueva de Santo Adriano (Asturias).

    Entre el 22 y el 25 de mayo de 2019 tendrán lugar las VII Jornadas de Patrimonio Cultural en Villanueva de Santo Adriano (Asturias), organizadas por La Ponte-Ecomuséu, el Máster en Gestión Cultural y de Industrias Creativas de la Universidad de Alcalá y MediaLab-Prado. En esta ocasión el tema propuesto es: Ecomuseos y experiencias comunitarias en España: innovaciones sociales, emprendimientos y patrimonios diversos con problemas e inquietudes comunes.

    Desde que comenzarán a desarrollarse a mediados del siglo pasado y en diferentes países experiencias comunitarias museológicas (ecomuseos, museos comunitarios, etc.), éstas no han dejado de proliferar, transformase y adaptarse a las necesidades de las comunidades. España no se ha quedado al margen de este panorama; es el momento de comenzar a reflejar cuántas de ellas se encuentran distribuidas por nuestro territorio, en qué estado se encuentran y cuál es su futuro. Coincidiendo con el programa de proyectos colaborativos de Rural-Experimenta (Ministerio de Educación, Cultura y Deporte, La Ponte-Ecomuséu y MediaLab-Prado), nos proponemos crear ese foro en el que conocer las diversas experiencias y construir el futuro conjuntamente.
