Resumen

The archaeological heritage and the knowledge produced through its study may be a key component in the local communities’ development process and intercultural dialogue. PAIDEIA approach for heritage management, inspired by the Socratic idea of παιδε?α, represents the theoretical contribution of our research: we believe this idea should be applied in the management of heritage as a new approach to development. This proposal falls within the current debate on the need for new paradigms of development: the socio-economic global imbalances show that the paradigms adopted to date have been inadequate. This article presents the work leading to PAIDEIA APPROACH, illustrating the revised concept of alliance between archaeology, tourism, development.
